Vintage Timbers Carbon Black Oak Planks are salvaged from a variety of sources. They have been specially treated to achieve an amazing rustic but modern carbon black color. They contain a mix of rift and quarter sawn oak, which is the most desirable of cuts as the vertical grain is more stable to movement and also creates the beautiful “quarter sawn flecks” in the wood adding even more character. This wood boasts lots of character markings including wormholes, beautiful checking, quarter sawn fleck and other markings our customers have come to love from all the Vintage Timbers products.
We recommend installing with a black underlayment like roofing paper, or paint the existing surface black before installing. This will let the character marks show without having anything unwanted show through. Can be installed with a nickel gap (like shiplap) by spacing in between rows for an even more amazing look.
- Kiln Dried, edges squared, random widths, and random lengths to 48". Palletized shipments can have lengths to 80”.
